In this next series of blog posts, I’m going to be ranking my version of the best college football players of all time in order from 8-1. Kicking off this list is Vince Young. Say what you will about his time in the NFL, but there’s no doubting that he is one of the best collegiate athletes ever. He was the most highly touted prospect in the country coming out of high school. He definitely showed why in his time at Texas.
Vince Young’s junior season at Texas was one for the ages. He compiled over 3000 passing yards to go along with 26 touchdowns through the air. He also ran for another 1000+ yards and added 12 more touchdowns on the ground. This is the same season that he led Texas to the National Championship title and finished 2nd in the Heisman trophy voting. Vince Young will forever be known as a college legend that just couldn’t quite cut it in the NFL.
