At this point in the season, this looks like the matchup to watch in the SEC west. Both teams are undefeated to this point. Texas A&M has looked much better this season now that new defensive coordinator John Chavis has had time to implement his schemes. Alabama, on the other hand, has looked about as dominant as usual. They have given up a lot of points which is unusual, but that can be contributed to losing long time coordinator Kirby Smart.
This game is going to be played in Bryant Denney stadium, which should give Alabama a huge advantage. Texas A&M new transfer quarterback, Trevor Knight, is used to high pressure situations. He has fit right in with Kevin Sumlin’s offense, and looks like he could be a darkhorse Heisman contender. A lot remains to be seen, but so far, these two teams have the best shot at winning the SEC west.
