#7 Best College Football Player Ever

Barry Sanders. If you even have a small interest in college football, you’ve probably heard this name. Barry is an absolute legend in all stages of football. His Junior year at Oklahoma State may be the best single season for a running back in college football history. In this season alone, Barry rushed for 2,628 yards and had 37 touchdowns. Before you ask, no, that is not a misprint. That is for one single season. That yardage total would dwarf the current NFL record for yards in a single season.

Barry also won the Heisman trophy following his junior year and declared for the draft. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions and went on to have a 9 year playing career. He surpassed 1000 rushing yards in every season he played. In 1997, the year before retiring, he rushed for over 2000 rushing yards. That stat is still one of the top single season efforts in NFL history.
